Young Women
At the Caron Texas drug rehab and alcohol treatment facility, young women patients aged 18 to 25 years old, undergo gender-specific substance abuse treatment in a gender-separate treatment environment.
Research has shown that young women experience superior results in alcohol and drug treatment when the primary care program is designed specifically for females. Caron Texas offers such a program, designed to serve the female alcoholic or drug addict.
Young female patients participate in individual and group therapies, therapeutic activities, informative lectures, and continuing care planning. Within this treatment structure, gender-separate services are provided to enhance the development of female support systems and focus on concerns important to women. Women are more likely to express themselves in gender separate groups and are often more willing to share about important issues, such as:
- Shame
- Relationships
- Body image
- Sexual trauma
- Parenting
All of the programs at Caron Texas are staffed by clinical professionals dedicated to compassionate top quality substance treatment care. Each person in treatment works with a treatment team including several disciplines: psychiatry, psychology, social work, counseling, spiritual guidance, nursing, and other specialties. Caron Texas builds its staff around experienced, highly accomplished clinicians, many of whom are in personal recovery.
Due to the number of Caron Treatment Centers treatment facilities and diverse patient populations, Caron Texas has the distinct advantage of being able to transfer patients to primary care treatment programs being offered in our Wernersville, Pennsylvania facility. This is often the case for young adult female patients in their late teens or early twenties for whom age-specific and gender-specific programs are more frequently available at Caron’s Pennsylvania substance treatment center.
