Inpatient Primary Care - Later Teen and Young Adult

At Caron Texas, we are legally able to treat anyone 18 years or older. Often, young people between the ages of 18 and 27 need age-specific treatment and surroundings. In group therapy sessions, for example, it is often more beneficial for patients to participate in group therapy with other patients in their age group.

Due to the number of Caron Treatment Center facilities and diverse patient populations, Caron Texas has the distinct advantage of being able to transfer later teen and young adult patients to primary care treatment programs underway in our Wernersville, Pennsylvania facility. This is often the case for patients in their late teens or young adult patients from 20 to 25 years of age.

At Caron Pennsylvania, the alcohol treatment and drug rehab programs are staffed by full-time professionals to ensure each patient receives a personalized treatment plan with individualized addiction services. The treatment team generally consists of at least a psychologist, an addiction counselor, medical staff and pastoral care counselors. Patients also have access to nutrition and exercise advisory staff as well. Patients participate in individual and group therapy, therapeutic activities, daily lectures and aftercare planning. With these tools, each and every individual who comes to Caron for treatment has the ability to form a solid foundation for a life of recovery.

Extended care, like primary treatment is gender-separate and gender-specific, with a goal to facilitate a gradual re-integration back into a patient’s family, social and work environment. Young adults participate in therapeutic programming, centered on the 12-Steps, group and individual counseling sessions, as well as family sessions.
