Assessment

Caron’s residential assessment programs are intensive 5-10 day residential programs, designed to discover or rule out a diagnosis of chemical dependency.

These assessment programs are unique, allowing Caron professionals the opportunity to evaluate an individual at one location, free of outside influences such as peers and possible family conflict.

Caron offers on-site assessment programs for adolescents, teens, young adults and adults of either gender. An assessment of this type done on an outpatient level can require several different providers and several months to complete—through Caron’s full range of treatment services, we can provide an assessment in 5-10 days at a single location at Caron Pennsylvania. If the family is seeking an in-state program, Caron Texas will attempt to refer them to one or more facilities in the local markets.

At the conclusion of the assessment, the psychologist who oversees the assessment testing, along with the individual’s therapists, meets with the patient and his or her family, as well as other providers (interventionists, psychologists, etc.) to review the assessment results and to consider recommendations for the next steps. Also included in the determination are the results of the patient's psychological evaluation, as well as a history and physical evaluation. If a chemical dependency diagnosis is established, the clinical team assists in the development of a customized treatment plan.
