As part of its individual drug and alcohol treatment, Caron Texas provides spiritual assessments and counseling through individualized and group spirituality care.

Recognizing that people seeking help come from diverse spiritual and religious backgrounds, our spiritual care services are completely non-denominational – all religions and faiths are treated equally. In our programs, the distinction between religion and spirituality is a source of constant discussion, investigation, and exploration.When patients enter treatment at Caron Texas, they are often without hope and experiencing sadness, loss, fear, worry, and demoralization. Addictions take a tragic and terrible toll on our aliveness, our relationships, our sense of self, and our hope for the future. These problems touch our lives spiritually as well as physically, socially and psychologically.

At Caron Texas we recognize that in other treatment settings the spiritual dimension of care is neglected, ignored, or even misdirected. We do not endorse or prescribe any specific ideology or theology; rather, we encourage each person to clarify and recognize the beliefs and practices that make sense and work to our shared goal of patient recovery, integral pieces based on the 12-Step approach to treatment.  Weekly grief groups are offered through the spiritual care team for those dealing with grief issues that impact their addiction or grief issues caused by the loss of dreams because of their addiction.

Caron Texas has trained spiritual counselors and chaplains on its staff of credentialed experts. Integrated spiritual care empowers the suffering individual to rediscover meaning and dignity. Healthy spirituality supports creative, life-giving, intimate relationships with self, others, the universe and a Higher Power. Patients are encouraged to explore spiritual work as part of treatment and their unique road to recovery. While Caron Texas provides a weekly on-site inter-faith service which most patients and families enjoy and participate in, we also accommodate individuals who have unique spirituality needs and desire a connection with their faith group outside of Caron Texas.
