At Caron Texas, our team of licensed and certified addiction specialists has a wide range of expertise in treating chemical dependencies and other co-occurring disorders. All of our programs are staffed by full-time professionals to ensure each patient receives individualized addiction treatment care.
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), “the best treatment programs provide a combination of therapies and other services to meet an individual patient's needs.” Caron Texas believes that effective substance abuse rehabilitation should attend to the individual’s addiction issues and their medical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. For that reason, each addiction treatment team consists of psychologist, addiction counselor, medical personnel, recreational staff member and pastoral care counselor. Ann Miller, Ph.D. - Executive Director
Dr. Miller is a leading addiction industry professional with more than 25 years in the field. Dr. Miller has a unique background working in both the business and clinical sectors of health care. She has served as Executive Director at the International Institute for Alcoholism Education & Training, Executive Director of the Recovery Center in Moscow, Vice President in the Clinical Services Residential Division at CRC Health, and as a Chemical Dependency Counselor at Smithers Treatment Center. She received her Ph.D. in Addiction Studies from Columbia University in New York.

Amara Durham - Director of Development and Community Relations
Ms. Durham has been recognized for her 14 years of success launching multiple premier brands nationwide and inspiring long term partnerships as a merchant for the luxury retailer Neiman Marcus. She is known for her creative and strategic marketing abilities, mutually beneficial negotiating, and building strong relationships which result in significant fund raising. She received her law degree and MBA from the University of Richmond and is a member of the Texas Bar Association. She is a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals and a committee member and fund raiser for the Park Cities YMCA.

Rev. Steve Kelley, M.Div., MA, NCC, LPC - Caron Texas Spiritual Care Counselor
Rev. Steve Kelly has been a pastor for over 27 years. He has a Masters of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology located on the campus of Southern Methodist University and a Bachelors in Religion from Centenary College in Louisiana. In 2007, he received a Masters in Substance Abuse Counseling from University of Louisiana at Monroe. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas.

Brenda Iliff, MA, LADC, CAC - Caron Texas Clinical Director
Ms. Iliff has been in the addiction field for over 20 years in a variety of settings, both as a clinician and an administrator. Brenda has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Regent University in Virginia and a Bachelors in Chemical Dependency and Gerontology from Metro State University in Minnesota. She helped to establish several programs including Hazelden’s Women’s Recovery Center and their Florida facility. Brenda is the author of the book, A Woman’s Guide to Recovery (Hazelden, 2008), as well as numerous articles on addiction and recovery. She regularly speaks to professional audiences on gender differences in recovery, older adult issues, food addiction, and ongoing recovery needs. She has appeared on Good Morning America, Air America Radio and has had several appearances on public television.
